U.S. President Donald Trump said he will soon have "the honour of taking Cuba".
This as the energy and economic crisis on the island deepens as its power grid continues to crumble.
Officials in Cuba reported an island-wide blackout on Monday in the country of some 11 million people.
The Ministry of Energy and Mines reported a complete disconnection of the country's electrical system.
This Havana resident said "Since last night, it has been 24 hours without electricity."
This man said, "This is an abuse. It will be two or three days without electricity."
Families live by candlelight at night and with the doors open to stay cool.
This woman said "I don't have a rechargeable fan, so I have to leave doors open."
This is the third major blackout in Cuba over the past four months.

The U.S. President said "whether I free it, take it. I think I can do anything I want with it."
