Body found off Sai Kung pier

A floating body was found in waters off Sai Kung Pier. It is understood that the deceased woman was bound with nylon rope.
At around 6:30 a.m., police received a report from a passer-by that a woman, believed to be about 60 years old, was seen floating in the sea about 4 to 5 meters off the New Public Pier on Fuk Man Road, Sai Kung.
Firefighters arrived and retrieved her, and she was confirmed dead at the scene. No suicide note was found, and the cause of death will be determined after an autopsy.
It is understood that the woman was wearing a blue jacket and blue pants. Her body was visibly swollen and decomposed. She had been tied up with nylon rope and was attached to a plastic bag containing five bricks.
After checking records, police found no indication that the deceased was connected to any case or to any missing-person report.
