Another three members of the Iranian women's football team who accepted refugee visas to stay in Australia have decided to return to their homeland.
Their departure leaves three of an initial seven squad members in Australia.
The bulk of the team is now in Kuala Lumpur, where they are staying in a hotel.
It is not clear whether the three returnees will join the main squad in Malaysia.
Iran's Tasnim News Agency said the three were "returning to the warm embrace of their family and homeland."
It also described the women's return to the team as a "disgraceful failure of the American-Australian project."
