Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that Israel's attacks on Iran in recent days have killed several top Iranian nuclear scientists. This as Iran's government took journalists on a tour of Tehran showing them damaged buildings near Resalat square and other areas hit by U.S.-Israeli strikes. And U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said that the cost of the war with Iran was 'not something that we have to worry about." Air defense batteries in Tehran were activated following airstrikes late Thursday. Netanyahu said strikes this week had killed senior nuclear scientists involved in developing nuclear weapons and also targeted additional scientists. He said the operation named Rising Lion also caused extensive damage to Iran's missile stockpile and missile manufacturing plants. This as workers in Tehran on Thursday removed debris and rubble from some of the buildings damaged by Israeli-US strikes that hit the area of Resalat square earlier in the week. In a media tour organised by the Iranian government, journalists were shown some of the buildings damaged by the strikes. According to Iran's state TV "an entire alley" in the area had been destroyed in the attack while the semi-official Tasnim news agency said about 40 people were killed. Local resident Marzieh Darabi said, "When I got out of the building and reached the alley, it was then that I realised the extent of the damage." "I heard people screaming from homes and asking for help. I felt frustrated because I could not do anything." she said. Meanwhile U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Thursday that the cost of the Iran war was "not something that we have to worry about," as the Pentagon said the first week of the war cost the United States 11.3-billion-U.S. dollars. "Again that 11 billion is a lot of money, but we have cushions built in, and it's not something that we have to worry about over this horizon." And in the Greek capital Athens, several thousand demonstrators marched on the U.S. Embassy Thursday to protest against the on-going attacks in Iran. Protesters held Palestinian and Iranian flags. The rally, organised by student groups, ended peacefully.
