11 people were injured following a chain-reaction crash on the Tsing Ma Bridge this morning. At least ten vehicles collided on the bridge's airport-bound carriageway.

The police later arrested a man on suspicion of driving while disqualified.

Moment of the impact, a dashcam captured one car hit the back of another.

Just before the accident happened at around 8:30 this morning, a line of cars and light goods vehicles were travelling on the Tsing Ma Bridge towards the airport.

All of a sudden, a car in front slowed down and switched on hazard lights. It resulted in a multi-vehicle pile-up, involving ten vehicles.

One of which flipped onto its side, scattering glass across the lanes. Another car overturned. Several sustained heavy damage.

Firefighters assisted in retrieving a suitcase stuck in one of the cars. The luggage, however, was severely dented.

This driver said the vehicles in front were slowing down gradually, rather than suddenly.

While he said he managed to reduce the speed, the cars behind him were unable to brake in time.

Two people were briefly trapped inside their cars before firemen got them out.

Several injured people were sent to the North Lantau Hospital. One of them was seen wearing a neck brace.

Police subsequently apprehended a man on suspicion of driving while disqualified. The collision resulted in a temporary closure of two airport-bound lanes on the bridge.

By around noon, the scene was cleared and all lanes were reopened to traffic.
