Israel, Hezbollah trade new attacks as Trump hails Middle East conflict as success for US

The Israeli military and Iran-backed Hezbollah traded blows as the Middle East war rages on. This comes as an Israeli military spokesman said Hezbollah and Iran are attempting to expand attacks to several areas in Israel.
Elsewhere, speaking during a tour of a pharmaceutical plant in Ohio, US President Donald Trump seemingly heralded the conflict as a success for Washington.
An interception was seen over Israel's Haifa area as Hezbollah launched dozens of rockets at the north of Israel.
One rocket hit a house near the town of Karmiel, causing minor injuries to two people, according to Israeli rescue services.
Footage released by the Israel Defense Forces showed what it said was strikes on the Lebanese capital Beirut, targetting Hezbollah.
The IDF said "among the targets struck were terrorist infrastructure, weapons storage facilities, central headquarters, and the Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Air Force headquarters in Beirut."
This comes as an Israeli military spokesman said Hezbollah and Iran are attempting to expand attacks to several areas in Israel.
Brigadier General Effie Defrin said "the attempt to expand the shooting to many areas in the country is a direct response to the extensive and deep damage and the pressure Israel is exerting on them, and this pressure is increasing day by day."
Defrin added Hezbollah is doing everything to assist Iran. The spokesman also threatened Iran's new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei. He said "if Khamenei threatens Israel, he is a target for us."

He said: "Well, it's both. It's both it's an excursion that will keep us out of a war and the war is going to be, I mean for them it's a war, for us it's turned out to be easier than we thought."
Meanwhile, mourners and supporters of the Iranian government attended a funeral in Tehran for senior military commanders and others killed during the war.
The funeral was held near Tehran's Revolution Square.
Mourners chanted "death to America" and vowed to keep supporting the ruling system.
