Kristi Noem debuts as envoy for the Shield of the Americas as US pivots to Cuba

U.S. President Donald Trump said the United States will turn its attention to Cuba after the war with Iran and suggested that the administration will cut a deal with Havana.
This as ex-Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem made her debut in her new role as special envoy for the Shield of the Americas, described as a new U.S. security initiative in the Western hemisphere.
She said, "As we achieve a historic transformation in Venezuela, we're also looking forward to the great change that will soon be coming to Cuba. Cuba is at the end of the line. They're very much at the end of the line. They have no money, they have no oil, they have a bad philosophy, they have bad regime that's been bad for a long time."
"And they want to negotiate, and they are negotiating with Marco (Rubio, Secretary of State) and myself and some others. And I would think a deal would be made very easily with Cuba."
Meanwhile Kristi Noem, who was fired by U.S. President Donald Trump as homeland security secretary on Thursday had the chance Saturday to make her debut in her new role as a special envoy for the Shield of the Americas - a new security initiative that will focus on the Western Hemisphere.
