Wang Yi expressed his hope that this year will be a landmark year for Sino-US relations, moving towards a healthy and stable future. Wang said China and the United States are both big countries. Neither side can remodel the other, but they can choose how they want to engage, which is to commit to the spirit of mutual respect, to hold the bottom line of peaceful coexistence, and to strive for win-win cooperation. It serves the interests of Chinese and American peoples and also aligns with the expectation of the international community. He said if they have sincerity, they will expand the list of areas with common ground, and shorten the list where they have difference.
