Some Middle East countries continue to be affected by the conflict in Iran as the U.S. embassy in Iraq was attacked, and a building in Kuwait City was ablaze in the early hours of Sunday.

This as Saudi Arabia said it would retaliate if Iran continues to attack Saudi territory or energy facilities.

Meanwhile, there were contrasting protests in Italy, one commemorating the Ayatollah, the other in support of military intervention by the United States and Israel.

Flames were seen leaping into the night sky as a massive fire tore through a high-rise building in Kuwait City early Sunday. The cause of the blaze was unclear but it erupted as the country suffered a wave of Iranian drone and missile attacks.

Over the past week Iran has struck U.S. military bases and facilities in the Middle East. Kuwait, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia among other Gulf states have intercepted drones and missiles originating from Iran in recent days.

Kuwait military said fuel storage tanks at the country's international airport have also become targets of drone attacks.

An explosion also occurred late Saturday night near Erbil airport in Iraq's Kurdistan region.

And here, a large crater in the ground in Choman district of Irbil from suspected Iranian drones.

This as three Iraqi security officials said a missile landed on the helicopter landing pad in the U.S. Embassy complex in Baghdad.

They spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorised to comment publicly. No casualties were immediately reported from the attacks.

Iran-back militias have claimed responsibility for some attacks on U.S. facilities in Iraq.

Meanwhile, thousands of Shiite Muslims in the Pakistani city of Karachi attended a rally to mourn Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other Iranian officials killed in US-Israel air strikes last week.

People holding portraits of Khamenei and chanting slogans such as "Death to Israel" and "Down with US."

And in Milan, Italy hundreds gathered at two opposing demonstrations Saturday, one in support of military intervention by the US and Israel against the Ayatollah regime in Iran, and the other to commemorate the Ayatollah.
