The UK has further tightened its immigration policy. Any foreigners who have received a prison sentence of at least 12 months will have their entry visa refused or revoked. This will come into force from March 26th. The move comes as UK Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood will introduce new legislation to restore order and control the country's borders. Meanwhile, the bar for permanent residency is rising. From the end of March next year, applicants must have B2-level English, assessed in tests conducted by approved organisations.
