Government provides over HK$6 million in financial aid to family of firefighter Ho Wai-ho

The government has provided 6.15 million dollars in financial assistance to the family of Ho Wai-ho, a firefighter who died in the Wang Fuk Court fire.
Ho's funeral was held on 19 December 2025.
Ho Wai-ho, 37, died last year while on a search and rescue mission during the Wang Fuk Court fire in Tai Po.
Under the financial assistance scheme for families of those who sacrifice themselves to save lives, the government has provided $6.15 million dollars to his family.
The chairman of the committee responsible for approval, Secretary for Labour and Welfare Chris Sun said the financial assistance is a recognition of Ho's heroic, fearless, and selfless spirit.
