Senior CCP member Song Ping dies aged 109

Song Ping, former senior official of the Chinese Communist Party, died at the age of 109.
CCTV announced the death of Song on Wednesday. Xinhua News Agency reports that Song passed away in Beijing because of illness.
Born in 1917, Song was from Shan Dong province. He joined the Chinese Communist Party in 1937. During his political career, Song assumed different party positions, including Zhou Enlai's secretary.
