An Emirates flight will land in Hong Kong from Dubai tonight.

This came after Dubai Airports resumed limited flight operation, after more than 48 hours of total shutdown amid the war in the Middle East.

Some people are buying more than one ticket in case one of the flights is cancelled.

On the flight arrival page of the Hong Kong International Airport, it shows that Emirates flight EK380, will land in the city from Dubai before 10 pm on Wednesday. But two other Dubai flights have already been cancelled.

This flight tracking website displays the flight route of the aircraft.

Unlike the old route that will pass the Gulf of Oman, the plane heads to the southeast direction for the Arabian Sea instead.

Mr. Yeung, a Hong Kong tourist who has been stranded in Dubai for the third day, said he had booked several direct flight tickets back to Hong Kong.

By securing more than one ticket, the Hong Konger said his chance of returning home seemed greater even if they cancelled one of the flights.

Another stranded Hong Kong tourist, Boyi, said she had spent an extra 20,000 dollars on flight tickets and hotel.

Though she is scheduled to fly back on Friday, Boyi is worried that there could be an overbooking situation, meaning she may not be able to board the flight successfully.

As a back up plan, she bought a separate flight ticket from Oman to Bangkok.
