A spokesperson for the National People's Congress said China is willing to strengthen communication with the US, but emphasized that China has its own bottom line.
In the NPC press conference today, a spokesperson was asked about US President Donald Trump's reported upcoming visit to China.
He said the two heads of state have maintained continuous communication, and bilateral relations remain generally stable and positive. He added China will resolutely defend its own sovereignty, security, and development interests.
On the Iran situation, the spokesperson said China calls for an immediate cessation of military operations, and that Beijing is willing to continue playing its role as a responsible major power in this regard.
