Financial Secretary Paul Chan recently delivered this year's Budget under the theme "Driving high quality, Inclusive growth with innovation and finance."
He explained on TVB's Straight Talk programme why he chose the cover colour purple and how it relates to his financial blueprint for the city.
Paul Chan said: "Well, purple, on the one hand, it is elegant, charm, but on the other hand, also represents, keep a cool head and be perseverant.
So given the different challenges, we stick to our core, count on the support of the country, and at the same time play to our strengths in terms of the sectors that we have competitive advantages.
For example, trade, finance, will continue to grow it, enrich it, make it even more vibrant. But at the same time, incubate the new sectors, technology and innovation in particular, and putting investments into the Northern Metropolis, which will be our future engine of growth and also a major area for housing and the other social needs.
