Six people were injured in a ship explosion at Stonecutter's Island Government Dockyard on Monday morning. The explosion involves a Marine Department's vessel.
After the accident, several Marine Department staff were sent to Princess Margaret Hospital for treatment.
Police received reports at around 10:30 am, saying an explosion happened at Stonecutter's Island Government Dockyard.
The Marine Department said that the accident occured when its staff was conducting an annual check of the ship.
It's understood that during the process, gas leaked from a marine battery, leading to a small explosion.
The department said five of the six employees could be discharged from the hospital later today.
