All district care teams meet targets in first phase of service

The Home Affairs Department said the first phase of the District Services and Community Care Teams, which concluded in October last year, fully met all performance targets.

In a summary report on the first phase, the department said that between 2023 and 2025, care teams across Hong Kong visited about 610,000 elderly people and households in need. They provided around 100,000 instances of basic home repair and support services, and organised approximately 50,000 district activities.

All services met their targets, with some teams even exceeding key performance indicators. Total expenditure for the first phase amounted to 440 million dollars. Among them, 410 million dollars was borne by the government. That's less than the 452 million dollars originally earmarked for subsidies.
