New World Development reported robust business at its Tsim Sha Tsui cultural-retail landmark K11 MUSEA during the just-concluded Chinese New Year Golden Week, with footfall hitting an all-time high and tourist spending surging 60 percent. According to Group data covering February 16 to 22, from Chinese New Year's Eve to the sixth day of the Year of the Horse, footfall rose 10 percent year-on-year, the highest since the mall's opening. Tourist spending jumped 60 percent, with the largest single transaction exceeding HK$2 million. Jewellery and luxury brands lead surge Member spending increased 54 percent year-on-year, with watches and jewellery posting the strongest growth at 140 percent, followed by international luxury brands at 40 percent. The Group attributed the strong performance to a rise in inbound visitors and a series of festive events, including a lion dance performance by the Keung's Dragon & Lion Dance Team, tourist reward campaigns in collaboration with Alipay, and the "Voyage of Flavours" dining e-vouchers valued at over HK$1,500 per person. Harbour-view restaurants fully booked for fireworks During the Chinese New Year fireworks display over Victoria Harbour on the second day of the holiday, harbour-view restaurants at K11 MUSEA, including Deng G, Greyhound Café Galleria and newly opened Japanese eel specialty shop Unagi Yondaime Kikukawa — saw near-full reservations, further boosting the festive spending atmosphere. Group optimistic ahead of Labour Day Golden Week With visitor arrivals and retail sales continuing to show year-on-year growth in recent months, the Group remains optimistic about the retail outlook and expects K11 MUSEA to sustain strong footfall and sales performance during the upcoming Labour Day Golden Week.
