Macao logged a surge in visitor arrivals over the Chinese New Year holidays.

On the third day of the Year of the Horse, the enclave received 227,000 inbound visitor trips, setting a new single-day record.

During the holiday, tourists packed the site around the Ruins of St. Paul's.

The God of Wealth and Macao's tourism mascots were near landmarks to greet visitors.

Macao's tourism sector representative says hotel bookings in the enclave topped 90 percent this year over the Lunar New Year holidays.
