Xi Jinping exchanges Lunar New Year greetings with Iowa friends

President Xi Jinping wrote to some of his American friends to extend Lunar New Year greetings. Xi was replying to a letter from friends in Iowa.
Xi said he visited Iowa 41 years ago and received a warm welcome, memories of which remain vivid.
In 1985, Xi, who was working in Hebei Province, led a delegation to Iowa.
A director of the Iowa friendship committee wrote to Xi earlier, extending New Year greetings.
In his reply letter, Xi Jinping said the hope for Sino-US relations lies in the people of the two countries.
