A large volcano in Hawaii began erupting on Sunday, sending fiery fountains of lava and ash high into the sky. Mount Kilauea on the Big Island of Hawaii spewed lava fountains about 300 metres high as a river of lava flowed nearby. The National Weather Service reported plumes from the eruptions going 35,000 feet above sea level. Kilauea is one of the world's most active volcanoes, and one of the six active volcanoes in the state of Hawaii.
