A man accused of killing 15 people in a mass shooting on Sydney's Bondi Beach appeared in court for the first time. Naveed Akram appeared via a video link from the maximum security prison in Goulburn 200 kilometres away from the Sydney courtroom. His lawyer arrived at the court early Monday morning. Akram did not enter pleas to the charges against him, including murder and committing a terrorist act. Akram was wounded and his father, Sajid Akram was killed in a gunbattle with police after the attack on a Hanukkah celebration at the beach on December 14.
