Financial Secretary Paul Chan will deliver the new Budget next Wednesday.

Among the spotlight is whether the 20,000-dollar newborn baby bonus will continue.

This father of two young children is the sole breadwinner in his family.

He said his children's enrichment classes alone take up more than 70 percent of his salary.

Monthly household spending ranges from 40,000 to 60,000 dollars.

Last year, the 2,500-dollar student allowance was also scrapped.

The New People's Party has put forward several proposals for the Budget, including extending the newborn bonus and introducing higher child tax allowances.

It also suggested launching "Child Healthcare Vouchers" for children under 12.

Lawmaker Judy Chan said the vouchers could ease pressure on families while promoting preventive care -- which will be a "triple win" solution.
