Jimmy Lai will be sentenced next Monday

Jimmy Lai, founder of Next Digital, and eight others are scheduled to be sentenced next Monday in a case involving violations of the Hong Kong National Security Law.

The Judiciary website shows that sentencing is scheduled for 10:00 AM on February 9th at the West Kowloon Magistrates' Courts, and is expected to take one hour.

Jimmy Lai is charged with three counts, including conspiracy to collude with foreign forces and conspiracy to publish seditious publications. Except for Lai, the other eight defendants pleaded guilty. The trial began in December 2023. Last December, three judges found Lai guilty on all three charges. Last month, they heard mitigation requests from the defendants.
