A Cathay Pacific flight returning from Kuala Lumpur to Hong Kong had a suspected failure of its landing gear.

No one was injured.

The passenger plane involved was an A330-343 Airbus, flight number CX722. The aircraft took off from Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Malaysia at about 2 p.m. At the time, there was a suspected landing gear failure with the Hong Kong International Airport being alerted. The plane landed safely at around 6 p.m.

Earlier, Cathay Pacific's A321neo passenger plane returning to Hong Kong from Kaohsiung was suspected of leaking lubricating oil after takeoff and had to turn back urgently.

In response to media enquiries, CX confirmed the flight reported an abnormal signal related to the landing gear during the flight. Following established procedures, the relevant authorities were notified to stand by as a precaution.
