Guangdong's first spring travel train departs

In Guangdong, the province's first "Chungyun" or Spring Festival train departed from Guangzhou South Railway Station in the morning.
The first train marking the start of the spring travel season in Guangdong set off at 6:03 a.m.
An endless flow of passengers could be seen in the waiting hall.
Railway authorities say on the first official day of the Spring Festival, Guangdong is expected to handle 1.31 million passenger trips, including both high-speed rail and general trains.
In Haikou of Hainan, authorities have set up dedicated lanes and inspection points at the ports for small passenger vehicles crossing the strait.
Hainan province is expecting the number of cross-strait passengers and vehicles this year to rise by around 12 and 10 percent respectively.
