Egyptian foreign minister meets with new Palestinian committee head

Egypt's foreign minister met with the head of the new Palestinian technocratic committee set to administer Gaza's daily affairs.
Egypt's Badr Abdelatty received Ali Shaath at the foreign ministry headquarters in Cairo.
The Palestinian committee set to govern the territory under US supervision also met for the first time late last week.
Shaath, a former Palestinian Authority official from Gaza, pledged to work quickly to improve conditions.
He expects reconstruction and recovery to take about 3 years, and plans to focus first on immediate needs, including shelters.
