Wong Tai Sin major main burst sent towering water into the air

A major water main burst near Sha Tin Pass Road and Fung Tak Road in Wong Tai Sin.
The powerful column of water that shot out of the burst water main could be seen reaching higher than a lamppost.
Vehicles had to be driven through waterlogged roads.
The Water Supplies Department confirmed tonight that the pipe involved was an 800 mm diameter salt water supply main.
The pipe has stopped overflowing and repair works are underway.
