After agreeing to deepen cooperation in a range of areas including cultural exchanges, South Korean President Lee Jae-myung and his host, Japan's Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, had a surprise music jam session. The two leaders sat side by side and performed on drum sets to a number of K-Pop global hits. Lee thanked Takaichi for arranging the session, and claimed that playing drums has been his long time dream. The relationship between South Korea and Japan has often been strained by Japanese World War II atrocities. At Tuesday's summit, the two leaders agreed to step up cooperation in economic security, defence and probes into the remains of Korean forced labourers.
