MTR service delay over tripping of overhead power system

An overhead power system tripped on the MTR Kwun Tong Line on Monday morning, disrupting services across the line for nearly half an hour.
The incident occured at around 7a.m. during the morning commute. The platform at Diamond Hill Station on the Kwun Tong Line was packed with passengers waiting for trains.
The MTR said an overhead power cable tripped between Lam Tin and Tiu Keng Leng stations. Travel time across the line increased by 15 to 20 minutes.
About half an hour after the MTR's initial alert, train services gradually returned to normal.
This was the second fault on the Kwun Tong Line in 10 days. The earlier problem was a signal equipment issue and services were distrupted for about 2 hours.
