Paul Chan attended public consultation for upcoming Budget

Public consultation for the upcoming Budget is under way.

Financial Secretary Paul Chan attended a radio program on Saturday morning to discuss the Budget with the public, saying that it will focus on improving the quality of development.

Financial Secretary Paul Chan said at the outset that despite the tariff war last year, Hong Kong still recorded 3.2 percent economic growth, and the market has recently begun to stabilize, with the economy currently showing steady progress.

Chan said: “This Budget aims to achieve both qualitative and quantitative improvements, enhancing the quality of development and providing better job and career opportunities for everyone.”

Topics discussed include the government’s tendering process and the possibility that people over the age of 70 can travel for free in public transport.
