Your next car might be watching your mood-not just the road

At CES, automotive suppliers are showcasing their latest technology they say will make driving safer for everyone.

"Are they sleepy? Are they drowsy? Are they not seated properly? Are they eating? Talking on phones? Are they angry? You name it, we can figure out how to detect that in the cabin, 
and that's a lot of what we show here," said Brian Brackenbury, director of product line management for Gentex Corporation.

The company demonstrated its latest generation of driver monitoring tools on the show floor-all run through a rear-view mirror with a camera pointed into the cabin.

"We can also do vitals, so we can detect your heart rate and your breath rate. That's contactless. We're actually using a camera to do that just by looking at the individual."
