Playground in To Kwa Wan blocked off after basketball hoop collapse

A basketball hoop collapsed at the Kau Pui Lung Road Playground in To Kwa Wan, injuring a young man. After the incident, authorities blocked off the basketball court with barriers.
Signs of rust were visible at the base of the support frame. The base of the other basketball hoop was also rusty.
The incident happened at 10:30 pm on Sunday.
A 20-year-old man was playing basketball with friends when the basketball hoop suddenly collapsed, hitting him.
It's understood that the man suffered abrasions to his head, and hurt his left knee and right ribs. He was conscious when taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.
