Chinese military kicks off annual training of 2026

The Chinese military began its annual training on Sunday with drills featuring some of the country's latest weaponry, including unmanned systems.
They include drones that have evolved from simple reconnaissance tools into specialised tactical systems with bomb-dropping capabilities and smoke-laying functions.
Robot dogs and suicide FPV drones were also deployed by the 79th Group Army.
Multiple warships including the Type 055 destroyer Nanchang, destroyer Xining, frigate Weifang also set out from a naval port in Qingdao, Shandong for their first combat training of 2026.
