Wang Yi says China will help facilitate Cambodia and Thailand peace

China's top diplomat Wang Yi met with his Cambodian and Thai counterparts in Yunnan as Beijing looks towards strengthening communication between the conflicting Southeast Asian nations.
Foreign Minister Wang Yi welcomed his Thai and Cambodian counterparts Sihasak Phuangketkeow and Prak Sokhonn earlier today.
The trio engaged in face-to-face dialogue and managed to reach a consensus on three points -- that the conflicting parties must face the future together, not to abandon the progress that has been reached and not to reignite the violent conflict.
Wang stressed China will always be a facilitator of peace and development between the two Southeast Asian countries, adding that Beijing will provide the necessary assistance such as monitoring the border ceasefire and landmine-sweeping work.
