Residents take in stunning views of Sweet Gum Woods in Yuen Long

While Christmas trees have taken the spotlight during the holidays, some residents have opted for seeing the Sweet Gum Woods in Yuen Long's Tai Tong. People can view it until the start of next year.
Located at the Tai Lam Country Park, the viewing period for the natural wonder began at the middle of this month, and has attracted an average of five to six local tour groups per day.
Because of the drop in temperature, the originally green leaves turn yellow and red. This is because of carotenoids hidden under the leaves chlorophyll.
The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department says it will arrange a photo gallery of the red leaves and organise games at the park during weekdays or public holidays.
