Two suspects of 1 billion yen robbery appear in Court

Two local men in connection with a robbery of 1 billion Japanese yen in Sheung Wan, appeared in Fanling Magistrates' Court this morning.

The two defendants, aged 28 and 36, have been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery.

The case was adjourned until March 17. The duo are remanded in custody.

The incident took place last Thursday, when two employees of a Japanese firm were threatened by an assailant armed with a 20-centimetre knife. No one was injured.

The police have arrested 17 suspects as of now and are still hunting for the stolen cash.
