Politburo holds meeting in Beijing on fighting corruption

President Xi Jinping chaired a meeting of the Political Bureau of the Chinese Communist Party's Central Committee this morning to discuss further efforts to combat corruption next year.
President Xi listened to the report from the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.
He said the commission, along with various discipline inspection bodies, has maintained a tough stance on halting corruption.
The meeting urged full and strict governance over the Party with higher standards and efforts to work ceaselessly to rectify any prominent issues.
It said efforts will be made in strengthening oversight over discipline compliance and accountability.
