Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said initial drafts of the U.S. peace proposal between Ukraine and Russia meet many of Kyiv's demands, adding that neither side is likely to get everything it wants in talks on reaching a settlement. This as a car bomb killed a Russian general in Moscow on Monday, the third such killing of a senior military officer in just over a year. Investigators said Ukraine may be behind the attack. In talks with diplomats in Kyiv Monday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that nearly 90 percent of Ukraine's demands have been incorporated into the draft agreement of the U.S. peace proposal. "It looks quite solid at this stage," Zelenskyy said. "There are some things we are probably not ready for, and I'm sure there are things the Russians are not ready for either," he added. U.S. President Donald Trump has for months been pushing for a peace agreement but negotiations have run into sharply conflicting demands from Moscow and Kyiv. In his nightly address Monday, Zelenskyy told the nation there was "constructive engagement with the American side." He also addressed the EU's decision to grant Ukraine 90-billion euros for two years, calling it "the key result of December." Adding, "Europe has taken a positive decision." This as a Russian general was killed in Moscow Monday morning after an explosive device detonated underneath his car. Investigators are pursuing numerous lines of inquiry regarding the murder but suspect Ukraine could be behind the attack, the third such killing of a senior military officer in a year. Lt. Gen. Fanil Sarvarov, head of the Operational Training Directorate of the Russian Armed Forces' General Staff, died from his injuries. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that President Vladimir Putin had been informed of the killing. The Defense Ministry said that Sarvarov had previously fought in Chechnya and taken part in Moscow's military campaign in Syria.
