A TVB news crew also set off after the opening, entering from the Shing Kai Road entrance and heading west toward the West Kowloon Highway.

We then entered the underwater tunnel, which has three lanes and a speed limit of 80 km/h. Inside the tunnel there is a double white line, and lane changing is not allowed.

More vehicles chose the left lane to head to Yau Ma Tei. 

There are multiple signboards at the exit indicating the directions of each exit. Apart from the right lane toward Kwai Chung where lane changing is not allowed, the three left lanes can all change lanes before the exit.

The entire journey took about 6 minutes to reach the West Kowloon exit, roughly matching the government’s estimated travel time.
