This as the first funeral of the victims took place in Sydney.

Eli Schlanger, a husband and father of five served as an assistant rabbi at Chabad-Lubavitch and also as a chaplain in New South Wales prisons and in a Sydney hospital.

Jewish people are usually buried within 24 hours, but funerals have been delayed by coroner investigations.
