Israel claims strike on car killed Hamas commander

The Israeli military claimed it killed senior Hamas commander Raed Saed, one of the architects of the October 7, 2023 attacks on Israel.
The strike on a car in Gaza City was the highest -profile assassination of a senior Hamas figure since the ceasefire deal came into effect in October.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a written statement that Saed was targeted in response to an attack by Hamas in which an explosion injured two soldiers on Saturday.
The attack on the car in Gaza killed five people and injured at least 25 others, according to Gaza health authorities.
Hamas confirmed a senior commander was killed. and that the strike was a "further escalation in the criminal violation of the ceasefire agreement."
