The authorities are continuing post-incident operations for the Wang Fuk Court fire. Officers from the Police Disaster Victim Identification Unit (DVIU) went to Wang Fuk Court in the morning to conduct a search. Police said they had used drones to inspect the scaffolding and safety nets on the building and believe there are no bodies there. However, they will remove the scaffolding and nets to confirm that nothing has been missed. The authorities issued a statement last night saying that the Fire Services Department set up safety ropes on the platform of Wang Tai House and entered the underground pump room, enabling the DVIU team to search areas of the scene that are hard to access. A concrete pump truck was also seen entering the site. The government stated that the Housing Bureau’s independent review team has taken concrete core samples from all 7 affected buildings at Wang Fuk Court to examine the structural integrity.
