Chief Executive John Lee has urged all eligible voters to cast their ballots tomorrow in the Legislative Council election. Lee said: “Tomorrow is the polling day for the 2025 Legislative Council election. Today, accompanied by Justice David Luk Kai-hong, Chairman of the Electoral Affairs Commission, and Erick Tsang, Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, I visited the general polling station at the Tung Chung Sports Centre and the adjacent border polling station at the Hong Kong Port Passenger Terminal of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge. “I inspected the polling station setup and staff preparations, observed a drill conducted by polling station staff on the electronic voter registration system's invoice arrangement and vote counting process. I encouraged my colleagues who will be working long hours tomorrow. The Electoral Affairs Department, drawing on the successful experience of the 2023 District Council elections, has introduced several new polling arrangements for this Legislative Council election. These include four polling stations near the border in Sheung Shui, as well as two additional polling stations at the Hong Kong Port Passenger Terminal of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge and Terminal 2 of Hong Kong International Airport. These polling stations also facilitate voting for pre-registered voters who need to be on duty at these locations on election day. In addition to the polling stations near the border, the Electoral Affairs Department has introduced several new polling arrangements this year, including the pilot addition of outreach polling stations at residential care homes and dedicated polling stations to facilitate voting for civil servants, Hospital Authority medical staff, and ethnic minorities."
