Government's living allowance for Tai Po fire victims increases to 100,000 dollars

The government will increase the living allowance for Tai Po fire victims from 50,000 dollars to 100,000 dollars.
Authorities also said they will "stay with" the residents and offer help according to their needs.
Speaking to the media, Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs Alice Mak said authorities have arranged more than 1,200 Wang Fuk Court residents to stay in hostels and hotels.
Mak said the residents will later be moved to transitional housing.
As to how the government will help the victims in terms of long-term housing, Mak said the government is working on it.
