US negotiators talking to Ukraine after Putin summit and Russian strikes

Russian President Vladimir Putin says peace talks with U.S. envoys in Moscow were "necessary and useful" but "difficult."

The Russian leader's comments come as Donald Trump's team are set to meet with Ukraine's lead negotiator in the US.

President Trump is trying to end the war but drone strikes hit Ukraine.

"He (Putin) would like to end the war that was their impression", the report President Trump received of Vladimir Putin's stance after his US delegation spent five hours with the Russian president in Moscow.

Next, Kyiv representatives will meet Trump's team in Miami as Trump says his plan to end the war could still come together: "President Putin had a very good meeting yesterday with Jared Kushner and with Steve Witkoff. What comes out of that meeting, I can't tell you. Because it does take two to tango. 

You know, Ukraine, I think we have something pretty well worked out with them." Trump told reporters in the Oval Office,"They're very satisfied, considering. But the sad part is if I were president, no war would have ever happened. They would have had one hundred percent of their territory, nothing would have happened. It's a it's a very sad situation."

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirming Ukraine will negotiate with the US in Florida.

"Everything is now proceeding quite effectively". Zelenskyy saying in his address, "Ukraine is being heard and listened to.  A dignified peace is only possible if Ukraine's interests are taken into account."

Ukraine's own Foreign Minister says Putin must "stop wasting the world's time," while others on the outside of talks say the Russian President has no interest in ending the conflict.

Former Ukrainian Prime Minister, Arseniy Yatsenyuk says: "It's sham talks, it's a smoke and mirror. So his (Putin's) aim is to subjugate Ukraine. Otherwise, he would announce an unconditional ceasefire and only afterwards to hold real peace talks."

The United Nations General Assembly voting on a resolution that would call for the immediate return of Ukrainian children deported to Russia.

The result of the vote is as follows: In favour 91Against 12 Abstentions 57.

Mariana Betsa Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine told the GA: "This resolution is about humanity. This resolution is about upholding the UN charter. This resolution is about our moral imperative To return each and every Ukrainian child back home."

Russia's Deputy Permanent Representative says Ukraine and its allies had created a web of lies as Russia says it has taken temporary guardianship.
