French President Macron begins his fourth visit to China

President Xi Jinping held a welcoming ceremony for visiting French President Emmanuel Macron.

Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan welcomed Macron and his wife Brigitte at the North Hall of the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Xi held a welcoming ceremony and accompanied Macron in reviewing the honour guard.

Macron arrived in Beijing on Wednesday to begin a three-day state visit to China. This is his fourth visit to China, coming two and a half years after his last trip.

After the welcoming ceremony, Xi and Macron held talks. Xi stated that China and France are visionary, independent major powers and a constructive force for promoting a multi-polar world and enhancing human unity and cooperation, and that China–France relations should become steadier and better.
