Political veteran Maria Tam: Tai Po fire rekindles "Lion Rock Spirit"

The government and the Hong Kong community have both been making a lot of efforts to help the victims of the Tai Po fire.
Maria Tam, former member of both the Executive and Legislative Councils, said in TVB's Straight Talk programme Hong Kong is showing the "Lion Rock Spirit" in this difficult time.
Maria Tam said, "In terms of what I see is happening for rescue and relief, I think the government is doing a quick job and very efficient, and the financial aid is already on the way. Resettlement is being arranged, and you can see that all the different government departments and the civil servants or discipline forces members all coming out to orderly look for whatever could be rescued and also how to grant relief to those who are affected."
