Trump-backed Asfura leading in Honduras elections

In Honduras, 34 percent of votes have been counted and conservative candidates Nasry Asfura and Salvador Nasralla lead the contest, with the governing party trailing.
The National Electoral Council said that National Party's Asfura, who is backed by US President Donald Trump, has more than 530,000 votes.
The Liberal Party's Nasralla has 506,000, while {Ritchie Monsada} Rixi Moncada of the Liberty and Re-foundation party collected almost 256,000 votes.
Asfura, 67, ran as a pragmatic politician, pointing to his popular infrastructure projects in the capital.
Just days before the vote, Trump endorsed him, saying he would help the US fight "narco-communists".
