Top Trump administration officials are meeting Ukrainian negotiators in Florida this weekend, pushing to broker an end to Russia's war in Ukraine and setting the stage for key talks in Moscow with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio is among the delegation expected to meet with the Ukrainians.

This as Ukraine launched a double attack on Russian oil tankers, while Moscow continued a missile and drone barrage on Kyiv and other cities.

As peace talks intensify, so do the attacks from both sides. A Ukrainian-built Sea Baby marine drone makes its way towards a Russian oil tanker in the Black Sea off Turkey.

An explosion rips through the stern of the ship. Another Sea Baby. Another hit, and another explosion.

Ukraine said it struck the Kairos and Virat tankers, said to be part of Russia's shadow fleet trying to evade sanctions.

Ukrainian intelligence said it would continue to actively take steps to curtail Russia's financial capabilities used to wage war against Kyiv.

The Ukrainian capital, though, and other cities continue to struggle against relentless Russian missile and drone attacks.

Several people were killed and more than 400,000 households in Kyiv were temporarily without power after a heavy night of bombing.

Firefighters battle a blaze at a multi-storey apartment building in Kyiv. At least one person was killed here and 11 others injured.

Ukraine's foreign minister, Andriy Sybiha, wrote on social media that despite ongoing peace plans, Russia is only interested in two things -- kill and destroy.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said around 36 missiles and 600 drones were used in the attacks.

In his regular address, Zelenskyy said a Ukrainian delegation is heading to the US to discuss details of a 28-point American plan to end the war.

The proposal heavily favours Russian demands but Zelenskyy said diplomacy remains active. A major sticking point for Ukraine is Russia's insistence that Kyiv give up territory in the eastern Donbas region, where Moscow's troops have made strong gains.

US President Donald Trump earlier said that his plan had been "fine-tuned" and that he's sending envoy Steve Witkoff to Russia to meet with Putin, who says the proposal can form the basis of a potential peace deal.
